When you live in another country, you expect things to be a little different. The language, the food, the holidays, etc. At the same time, there are things you expect to be similar: parks, some brand name items, etc. We recently discovered that orchestra concerts are not in the category of things that are consistent. However, we also learned that trying as many different activities as you can lead to some amazing stories.
Surprisingly, one of the cheapest and most under traveled countries in Europe right now is Ukraine. Ukraine has many places to see and it is extremely cheap to travel there. If you want mountains, beaches, AND old cities all in one vacation, Ukraine is definitely the place to experience all of this!
When most people write about cheap European travel, they usually tend to leave out most of Eastern Europe. That is a terrible mistake to make, because this region houses some of the cheapest cities in Europe.
We are currently living in Ukraine about four hours from Kiev (the cheapest European city to visit). For those of you who do not know how to convert pounds to dollars, 15 pounds is roughly 20 dollars. So in Kiev according to this chart, it will cost you about $20 a day, which is a steal! But it gets better, we never go to Kiev because it is too expensive for us compared to our town! In Ukraine outside of Kiev, Lviv, and Ivano Frankivsk you could easily live on $10-15 a day.

If you took the time to read our About Us page, you already know the basics about us and who we are. But, it doesn’t really go into too much detail. So let’s start with the basics, shall we?
